Bhubaneswar: A woman was burnt to death while worshipping at her home in Rathipur village under Jatni block in Khurda district.
The deceased woman has been identified as Rina Pradhan.
According to reports, Rina’s son had passed away a few months ago, and she had been struggling with her mental health ever since. On Sunday morning, while performing puja at her home, Rina’s clothes caught fire when she lit a lamp. She suffered severe burns and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead.
Upon being informed, Jatni police reached the spot and seized the body. Later, the body was sent for post-mortem examination.
