Sundargarh: A woman sustained critical injuries after her scooty was hit and dragged by a speeding truck for around 100 meters at MCL Road near Bandhapali under Sadar police station in the district today.
The woman suffered fractures in both legs in the accident. She has been admitted to the hospital.
The accident triggered tension after irate locals staged a road blockade demanding installation of a speed breaker.
Several vehicles were stranded on both sides of the road due to the blockade causing severe traffic snarl.
In view of the untoward situation, police forces have been deployed at the place.
