Bhubaneswar: A woman sustained grievous injuries after being hacked by her husband inside her office Near Baramunda bus stand in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
Critically injured Madhusmita Das has been admitted to a hospital. Her condition is stated to be critical.
On the other hand, police detained the accused husband and questioned him.
According to reports, Madhusmita worked at a real estate firm on the second floor of Krutibandhu Apartment behind Baramunda bus stand. Madhusmita was busy working in the office.
At around 1 pm, her husband suddenly entered the office premises and attacked her with a sharp weapon. She started running around in fear and other employees were also frightened. Later, they managed to capture him and informed the police.
A team from Bharatpur police station reached the apartment and detained him. However, the reason for the attack is not known.
He was later arrested and forwarded to court after interrogation.
