Cuttack: Two woman were rescued by Fire Services personnel from Kathjodi river today evening. The duo had jumped into the river after parking their two wheeler on Trisulia bridge. The incident occurred at around 5:30 pm today evening.
People spotted both jumping into the river and alerted Fire Services following which a rescue team sprung into action. The two were rescued and brought ashore on inflatable rescue boats. A large crowd gathered on the Trisulia bridge to catch the rescue personnel in action.
According to reports, the two got stuck in a wild bush in the river which saved them from drowning. Both the women were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police arrived at the spot and started an inquiry.
