Bhubaneswar: A woman and her daughter were admitted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute Of Medical Science And Research in Sambalpur after being stabbed by a miscreant at Dinapali under Ainthaplai police limits in Sambalpur district on Friday.
According to sources, Indu Das and her daughter Payal were heading towards their shop when Suraj Hati allegedly attacked the mother-daughter duo. Suraj and Indu families were not on good terms and have been at loggerheads over a land dispute.
Following the attack, both Indu and Payal were rescued and rushed to Sambalpur Sadar Hospital. As their condition worsened, they were shifted to Burla Medical College and Hospital.
It is learnt that Suraj absconded after committing the crime. Upon being informed, police launched a manhunt for Suraj.
Indu owns a tailoring shop to run her family after her husband developed some health issues.
