Jagatsinghpur: In a tragic accident near Jayashol on the outskirts of the Jagatsinghpur district headquarters town, a car fell from a canal bridge, resulting in the death of a woman and leaving four others injured, two of whom are in critical condition and have been shifted to Cuttack Medical College.
According to reports, the incident occurred when a car carrying a family returning from Cuttack to their home in Sheikhpatna lost control.
The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Jism Farana from Sheikhpatna, who died on the spot.
All four injured were initially admitted to Jagatsinghpur District Headquarters Hospital, but two with severe injuries were later referred to SCB Medical College & Hospital, Cuttack for advanced treatment. The incident has cast a pall of gloom in the area.
