Malkangiri: In a tragic incident, a woman died out of shock hours after hearing the untimely death of her husband at Balimela NAC in Malkangiri district.
The deceased couple is Kamala Kuldip and her husband Hari Kuldip of Balimela.
Hari, a daily wager complained of chest pain today and was taken to Balimela Health Centre where doctors declared him dead due to heart attack.
Wife Kamala was completely devastated after the death of her husband. She started crying inconsolably and went into shock by falling unconscious.
She was also rushed to Balimela Health Center where doctors pronounced her dead.
The couple has left three children behind them.
A pall of gloom descended in the locality when the family members and neighbours cremated the bodies together in the presence of three orphan children.
In a similar incident, a woman allegedly died by suicide at her house at Benagadia in Khurdha a day after her husband died in a road accident. She went into shock and was unable to bear the loss of her husband. She hanged herself from the ceiling fan inside her house.
