Bhubaneswar: A young woman died under suspicious circumstances after allegedly falling from the second floor of an OYO hotel in the Jagamara area of Bhubaneswar last night.
The deceased has been identified as Sonali Mahapatra from Nayagarh district.
As per reports, Sonali was in the hotel room with her fiancé when she fell from the second floor, but the cause of her fall remains unclear.
Upon being informed, Khandagiri police recovered her blood-soaked body from the spot and launched an investigation to determine whether it was an accident, suicide, or murder.
Besides, police detained her fiancé for interrogation to unravel the mystery behind Sonali’s death and sent the body for a post-mortem.
Police are investigating all angles of the case, including the circumstances leading to the alleged fall and potential foul play.
