Bhubaneswar: A woman reportedly went missing after being dragged away by a crocodile in Brahmani River while she was washing utensils. This incident took place at Alapuadia village under Pattamundai police limits, on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Manjulata Bhanja.

According to sources, Manjulata went for cleaning utensils in the river after having lunch today. Her clothes and slippers were found on the riverbank. It is suspected that a crocodile might have dragged her as footprints of a crocodile were seen nearby.

It is pertinent to mention that five people were dragged away by crocodiles in the same area last year.

Meanwhile, the residents are in a state of panic due to the incident.
