Bhubaneswar: A 40-year-old woman is feared dead following a suspected crocodile attack near the Koldiha area of Kendrapara district on Monday.
The victim has been identified as Kajal Mohanty.
According to reports, Kajal had gone to bathe in a river located near the Kharasrota River. When she failed to return home, her family members began searching for her and found her clothes abandoned on the riverbank.
Suspecting a crocodile attack, local villagers launched a search in the surrounding area and also informed the Fire Services personnel. Upon receiving the information, the Fire Services team reached the spot and began the search operation.
As of the time of filing this report, the woman’s body had not been recovered. The search operation is currently ongoing.
