Bhubaneswar: A woman in Koraput district foiled her husband’s secret plan of getting married to another woman.
According to reports, Jamuna Samarth, a resident of Dulaguda village under Borigumma police limits, had filed a complaint with the police, stating that her husband, Bipin Samarth, was planning to marry another woman despite being already married to her.
Based on Yamuna Samarth’s complaint, police reached the spot and prevented Bipin Samarth from getting married to marry another woman, Gamoti Samarth, from the same village.
Yamuna claimed that she and Bipin had a love marriage 17 years ago and have a 16-year-old son, Raj Samarth, who is currently studying in Plus II. She alleged that Bipin had been planning to marry Gamoti without her knowledge or consent.
After Yamuna came to know about Bipin’s plan, she rushed to the police station and staged a protest, prompting the police to prevent the marriage from taking place.
Meanwhile, police registered a case and took Bipin into custody. The police are currently investigating the matter and have detained Bipin for further questioning.
The police are verifying the authenticity of the wife’s allegations and investigating whether Bipin had legally divorced his first wife before planning to remarry.
