Cuttack: The body of a woman was found dead near the Jagatpur truck terminal on Wednesday morning and the police suspect that the victim was raped before the murder. The deceased has been identified as Kuni Swain, wife of Madan Sahu.
According to sources, local residents and drivers discovered Kuni’s body lying near the Prachi Transport office in the truck terminal this morning and alerted the police. While the exact reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained, Mandan Sahu alleged that his wife was raped and strangled to death by unknown miscreants.
On being informed, Jagatpur police personnel reached the spot along with a scientific team reached the spot and seized the body. Jagatpur police station officer Ravindra Meher informed that sniffer dogs and a forensic team will be pressed into service to investigate the incident.
