Jajpur: A woman was killed by a crocodile when she went to the Virupa river in Bari block of Odisha’s Jajpur district on Wednesday morning. According to reports, the woman had gone to the river bank to defecate.
The incident has been reported from Palatpur village under Amathpur police limits in Jajpur. Early on Wednesday morning, when Jyotsna, wife of Anam Jena, went to defecate in Virupa river a crocodile dragged her into the water and killed her.
On being informed, Fire Services personnel reached the spot and recovered the woman’s mutiliated body. The incident has triggered panic among the villagers in the region.
