Woman Killed, Husband Critically Injured Due To Stabbing In Jharsuguda Railway Station

Jharsuguda: A woman died and her husband was critically injured when a miscreant stabbed the couple near Jharsuguda railway station on Wednesday late night.

According to reports, the couple had collected plastic waste from Rengali station and brought it to Jharsuguda, where they sold it for Rs 750. As they were returning with the money, the miscreant reportedly struck near the train washing platform. The woman, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, received a fatal stab wound to the chest while trying to save her husband.

Subsequently, the injured man has been admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital, where he is fighting for his life. The GRP police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
