Chhatrapur(Ganjam): A woman drowned to death on Friday following a boat capsize in Tampara lake near Chhatrapur in Ganjam district.
The deceased has been identified as Puspa Behera (34) of Humer village.
According to reports, while Puspa and her sister-in-law Bani of Humer village were on Friday going to the other side of Tampara lake in a canoe to fetch firewood, it capsized.
Both Puspa and Bani drowned. While locals were able to rescue Bani safely, Puspa drowned. Her body was later fished out from the lake by Fire Service personnel from Chhatrapur.
