Baripada: A woman was killed and her husband along with their four-month-old son sustained serious injuries after the motorbike on which they were astride was hit and run over by a truck on Thursday at Chadheibhol on Keonjhar-Mayurbhanj border in Mayurbhanj district.
The injured have been shifted to the district headquarters hospital at Keonjhar.
According to reports, while the deceased has been identified as Malli Naik Gobarabeda village under Ghatagaon police station limits, the injured-her husband and four-month-old son have been identified as Pranabandhu Naik and Sindhu Naik respectively.
The accident occurred while Pranabandhu and Malli were taking their son Sindhu to Indupur for treatment as he was suffering from fever.
Karanjia police have rushed to the spot and have launched an investigation.
However, the truck that caused the accident has fled the spot.
