Woman Killed, Two Others Injured In Lightning Strike In Sambalpur

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident near Sahajbahal village under Kuchinda police station limits in Sambalpur district, a woman was killed in lightning strike while returning home after working in the fields. Two others sustained serious injuries and have been hospitalised.

According to reports, Khiri Sahanet (55), Kunti Shandh (54), and Aarti Bagh (44) had gone to their fields in Sahajbahal village to plant paddy saplings. While returning home after completing their work, they were struck by lightning on the road. The strike left all three unconscious on the spot.

Upon receiving the news, a local resident rushed to the scene and transported the three injured women to Kuchinda Sub-Divisional Hospital in his car. There, doctors declared Khiri Sahanet dead. The other two women, Kunti Shandh and Aarti Bagh, are currently undergoing treatment.
