Bhubaneswar: A woman Maoist was arrested from Ekawari village of Nabarangpur district bordering Chhattisgarh.
On the basis of intelligence inputs, two teams of Nabarangpur police launched a special anti-Naxal operation in the village. During the operation, the 25-year-old Mang Nureti (Sindhu), a female cadre, has been arrested.
She was suspected to have involved in the police-Naxal shootout near Karipani and Ekawari villages of Chhattisgarh on April 12.
The police found she was working under the leadership of Naxal leader Deepak Mandvi of the Sita Nadi Area Committee since 2021.
After the arrest, the Odisha police handed over the woman ultra to Chhattisgarh police.
The police are further investigating whether she was involved in any other Naxal activities.
