Bhubaneswar: A woman allegedly murdered her two-month-old son and dumped the body into a well. Such at incident has occurred at Kanpur village under Marsaghai police limits of Kendrapara district on Sunday.
Reportedly, Satyaranjan Parida of Kanpur had a love marriage with Laxmipriya two years back. But, they used to quarrel regularly over financial issues.
Two months back, Laxmipriya gave birth to a son. However, the quarrels between the couple continued. Following it, Laxmipriya had gone to her father’s house but her brother-in-law left her again at her in-laws’ house two days back.
The couple again had a fight last night before sleeping. Later in the night, Laxmipriya started screaming that her child is missing. Unable to trace the child, the family members called the police.
After police suspected foul play and detained the couple, Laxmipriya revealed that she had strangulated her son, put the body in a sack and had threw it inside an abandoned well by tying it with a stone.
Subsequently, police called fire services personnel and recovered the body and sent it the district headquarters hospital for post-mortem.
