Nayagarh: In a tragic incident, a woman was run over by a bus while she was waiting for her bus at Karadipalli Street in Odisha’s Nayagarh district on Monday morning. The deceased has been identified as Hullasi Behera of Kardapalli village.
According to reports, Hullasi Behera was waiting for her bus when another speeding bus name ‘Kumar’ going from Baghmari to Khadpada ran over her, killing her on the spot.
He stood waiting for the bus. But at this time, another bus came and ran over the woman. As a result, the woman died on the spot. Such a rare incident happened at Kardapally street in Niagara district. The deceased woman was identified as Hullasi Behera of Kardapalli village.
The gruesome incident has sparked off tension in the area as angry locals blocked the road demanding compensation to the family of the deceased. Traffic has been brought to a standstill till the time of filing this report.
Being informed about the incident, a team from Fatehgarh police rushed to the scene and seized the body of the victim. The driver of the killer bus has been detained for investigation.
