Bhubaneswar: A woman staff of Khimji Jewellers shop here in Chandrasekharpur area was injured in a knife attack by a youth on Saturday.
The victim has been identified as Bishnupriya Paikray and admitted to a private hospital.
According to reports, Bishnupriya was having lunch at the canteen of the shop when Nikhil Jena, store keeper of the same jewelley shop, allegedly stabbed a knife on her back.
The victim had a heated exchange of words with store keeper during the lunch time, the reports added.
The accused soon after committing the crime fled the spot and has gone absconding.
Meanwhile, the police have captured the footage of CCTV camera installed in the canteen and started investigation into the incident.
Speaking to OMMCOM NEWS, Deepak Misra, IIC of Chandrasekharpur Police Station, said, ” The youth had attached the woman after a quarrel over some petty issues but we inquiring the matter to know if is there anything more than it.”
