Balasore: A woman and her 10-year-old son were severely injured as firecrackers exploded while making fireworks at their home in Salikotha village under Jaleswar police station in Balasore district.
According to reports, the explosion occurred during the manufacturing of firecrackers ahead of Diwali celebrations. Both victims suffered severe burn injuries and were rushed to a Jaleswar-based hospital before being referred to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital for advanced treatment.
Eyewitnesses reported that the boy accidentally lit a mosquito coil near the explosives, sparking the blast that injured him and his mother.
The mother-son duo are currently undergoing treatment at Balasore DHH.
