Bhubaneswar: A woman was allegedly stoned to death in her rented house at Khalari Jamubandha under Angul Sadar police station.
According to reports, Kuni Nayak(47) was found battered to death with stones on Wednesday night. Her son discovered her body in a pool of blood when he went to call her for dinner. The police were immediately informed, and an investigation is underway.
Upon being informed, the scientific team and sniffer dogs rushed to the scene today morning, and Kuni’s body has been sent to District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.
The police have, meanwhile, detained the daughter-in-law of the victim and the daughter-in-law’s mother for questioning.
However, the motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.
