Balasore: In a tragic incident in Tarabodhia village under Singhola police limits, a woman was charred to death while her husband is battling with life with serious burns.
The deceased has been identified as Reena Das. Her husband, Sibananda Khanda sustained burn injuries and is undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack.
The reason behind the mishap is yet to be ascertained, however, when the family members spotted Reena engulfed in a blaze, they tried dousing it.
In the process Khanda sustained burns, reports stated. They both were first taken to the local hospital and later shifted to Cuttack. Reena succumbed on the way.
Singla police has registered a case and investigating into the matter.
