Woman Suffers 75% Burns In Firecracker Blast In Cuttack, Undergoing Treatment At SCB

Cuttack: A woman sustained 75 per cent burn injuries as firecrackers exploded at her home in Natakai village under Nischintakoili block in Cuttack district on Wednesday.

According to report, the mishap took place when firecrackers exploded at the residence of Bhagyadhar Mallick, a known firecracker maker of the locality. The fire also gulfed his house, leaving it completely damaged apart from injuring Prabhasini Mallick (33).

Upon being informed, Fire department personnel responded promptly to control the blaze.

Prabhasini  was rushed to the Nischintakoili Community Health Centre and later referred to Cuttack’s SCB Medical College and Hospital as her condition deteriorated.
