Woman’s Body Chopped To 31 Pieces Exhumed From Pit In Nabarangpur, 2 Detained

Nabarangpur: Police on Saturday exhumed the body of a young woman chopped into 31 pieces from a pit in Murumdihi forest near Gona village under Raighar police limits in Nabarangpur district.

The exhumed body has been identified as Tila Gond of Bagbeda village. Raighar police have detained two persons in this connection. Tila had gone missing from her home on Wednesday.

“Ludu Ram Gond of Raighar police limits had lodged a report that somebody has buried his daughter after murdering her. A case has been registered under sections 302 and 201 of the IPC at Raighar police station in this connection,” informed Aditya Sen, SDPO, Papdahandi.

The SDPO added that the police have detained two persons, while the scientific team arrived and the investigation is underway.

“The deceased is my sister. She has been missing since Wednesday. We have come to know that she has been murdered here. We want justice and the death penalty for her killer, whoever he is,” said Krish Gond, the deceased’s brother.
