Woman’s Mutilated Body Found In Cuttack, Murder Suspected

Cuttack: In a horrific incident, an elderly woman was allegedly stoned to death in Barasingha village under the Godisahi police outpost in Barang police limits on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Urmilla Biswal (50) and her body was found behind her house and in a mutilated condition. It is suspected that someone killed the woman while she was sleeping late at night.

On being informed, senior police officials including ADCP Devadatta Kar and ACP Swastik Panda visited the spot and spoke to Urmilla’s neighbours to ascertain the cause of her death. The police have started an investigation into the case and a scientific team and dog squad have been pressed into service.
