Balasore: Tension ran high at Kumbharmuli village under Bhograi block in Balasore district on Thursday morning after a woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her in-law’s house.
As per reports, Sasmita, daughter of Basant Behera, was married to Ramakrushna Mahana of Haripur village two years ago. Sasmita’s family members were taken aback to find her dead under suspicious circumstances.
Meanwhile, Sasmitha’s family alleged that she was subjected to physical and mental torture by her husband and in-laws. The family also claimed that Sasmita was regularly harassed and beaten by her husband. They were informed about Sasmita’s death in the early morning.
When police were about to send the body for post-mortem, Sasmita’s family reached the spot and brought murder allegations against Sasmita’s in-laws and husband. Sasmita’s family staged a demonstration in front of the police van demanding action against the deceased’s husband and in-laws. Police later pacified the Sasmita’s family members and took the deceased’s husband into custody for further investigation.
Later police sent the body for post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
