Bhubaneswar: Women entrepreneurs of Odisha received a significant boost by showcasing their innovative products at the Summer Carnival 2023, organized by World Trade Center (WTC) Bhubaneswar Women Forum. The event that commenced at Symphony Mall on the eve of Mother’s Day, exhibited an array of products crafted solely by women.
The program was inaugurated in the presence of Rina Routray, Chairperson, Mahila Atmanirbhar Abhiyan & Advisor to the WTC Bhubaneswar Women Forum; Nitisha Mann, Dy. Director, MSME-DFO, Govt. of India, Cuttack; Latika Pradhan, MLA, Kabisuryanagar; & other dignitaries.
More than 25 emerging women entrepreneurs from Odisha are exhibiting their products under one roof, showcasing their creativity and entrepreneurial skills. The products are diverse, ranging from eco-friendly jewellery to clothing, food items, and more. Many of the products have a local touch and flavor, reflecting the culture and tradition of the region.
One of the popular eco-friendly jewellery brands on display is “Ecodarsini” by Priyadarsini Das, popularly known as Green Queen of Odisha. Her unique earring concepts based on G20, SDGs, Net Zero, and Mother Earth have become a big hit at the exhibition. Customers have been thrilled with the innovative and eco-friendly products on display.
One customer who bought a necklace made up of bamboo, wood, and dokra, including an earring written as Net Zero from Ecodarsini, said, “I have never come across such innovative eco-friendly jewellery before. I am so happy to buy these.” The products by these women entrepreneurs are unique and can attract anyone once it is visible, said another customer.
The exhibitors are very happy that the exhibition is inside the mall, as people can have a good time shopping for their products and the response has been overwhelming. It is a proud moment for the women of Odisha, and this exhibition will undoubtedly encourage more women to start their businesses and become successful entrepreneurs.
