Bhubaneswar: Addressing the mega gathering of ‘adivasis’ (tribals) from the tribal-dominated districts of Odisha on the occasion of World Indigenous Peoples Day organized by ruling BJD’s tribal front, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik reiterated his Government’s commitment to the overall development of the tribals and vowed to maintain it.

Citing example of the recently dedicated much-awaited Gurupriya Setu in tribal-dominated Malkangiri district’s erstwhile cut-off areas, the Chief Minister said, “Gurupriya Setu has been dedicated to the people’s service. It will pave path for the people of Swabhiman areas.”

“BJD is always working for bringing the tribals to the mainstream. We believe in work and inclusive growth. Our aim is to develop and do welfare measures for the tribal areas,” said the BJD supremo and Odisha Chief Minister.

He also said, “Education is the biggest guarantee of development and progress. Hence, we have been laying utmost stress on the progress of the tribal children. It’s a matter of pleasure that our efforts have turned out successful. The tribal children have today established themselves in various fields and walks of life.”

“Biju Janata Dal (BJD) is your party and championing your cause. Working for serving your interests and has been behind you. BJD is working for you and keep on doing it,” the BJD chief assured.

The Chief Minister also expressed much pleasure for having unveiled a statue of Saheed Birsa Munda in Chandrasekharpur here on the occasion of Kranti Divas. He also rendered his humble homage and rich tributes on the special occasion to Saheed Laxman Nayak.
