World AIDS Day: Medical, Nursing Students Create Awareness At Cuttack & Berhampur

Cuttack/Berhampur: On the occasion of World AIDS Day on Sunday, the medical and nursing students of SCB Medical College of Cuttack and MKCG Medical College of Berhampur attempted to create awareness in a move to eradicate the stigma attached to AIDS and HIV+.

The students with their teachers took out rallies holding banners and placards and a mini-marathon to spread awareness. Students of SCB Medical College also arranged for street plays with subtle yet strong message to wipe out any stigma related to AIDS.

Speaking to OMMCOM NEWS, the students and teachers said that even though AIDS is not curable, it is most definitely preventable. The primary purpose of the play was to educate people on how AIDS is contracted and spread. It also taught them how it does not spread and hence remove any misconceptions around AIDS disease.
