Bhubaneswar: A delegation from the World Bank called on Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo at the Lok Seba Bhavan here on Monday.
The World Bank delegation comprising of Priti Kumar, SC Rajsekhar, M Venkat Raman, and Manbinder M were full of praise for Odisha’s geographical location, climate, soil conservation and climate-friendly organic farming. During the discussion the delegation also praised Odisha for digging of ponds under REWRD scheme.
In the past World Bank has given priority to agricultural sector in Odisha and this collaboration shall also continue in the future. Odisha’s traditional farming methods and seed conservation shall further strengthen the agricultural sector in the future. The delegation urged more and more women to make a career in the agriculture sector.
Soil Conservation and Horticulture Director Nikhil Pawan Kalyan was present during the discussion.
