Balasore: Pitambar Khilar, a teacher in Bahanga block in Odisha’s Balasore district, was recently felicitated by the World Book of Records in London for his ‘matchless contribution in promoting the educational cause to serve humanity.’
Khilar teaches at the Khetramohan High School in Bahanaga. He wrote a 280-page article in August this year on the challenges faced by the education system in India and suggested ways to overcome them.
In addition, Khilar has also made a documentary film on his paper that drew the attention of the World Book of Records. Subsequently, he was invited to a programme organised in New Delhi to felicitate him on October 29.
He was presented with a citation and trophy at the event attended by representatives from 15 countries. Corina Sujdea, Romania, founder of RELTTAW, presented him and others with trophies for their unique contribution to promoting educational causes.
Later, Khillar was invited to a world conference organised by the World Book of Records in London. This conference was attended by representatives of 45 countries from seven continents and Pathambar Khilar was the only participant from India.
