World Odia Conference To Be Held In Bhubaneswar In Feb 2024

State Heritage Cabinet /World Odia Language Conference

Bhubaneswar: The State Heritage Cabinet today decided to organise the first three-day-long ‘World Odia Language Conference’ in the State Capital Bhubaneswar in February 2024.

According to an official statement, the decision to organise the conference was taken at the Heritage Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today as per the decision of the Cabinet meeting held on 26th December 2017.

As per the decision, the ‘World Odia Language Conference’ will be also organised at the state, national and international level, the statement said.

Linguists and language experts of national and international eminence will be invited to speak at subject-specific sessions at the conference, the statement added.

The statement said that students from across the State will be involved in this conference extensively.

Special attention will be given to admiration of the Odia language among the youth. During this conference, educational institutions/universities will organise programmes at their level.

By organising this conference, publicity and promotion of the Odia language and research in the State & outside and abroad shall be expedited. This apart, the conference shall inculcate a sense of respect for the mother tongue, and its all-round development while upholding its identity for the next generation, the statement further said.
