Bhubaneswar: The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Thursday recovered the blood-stained body of a youth from the railway tracks near Punama Gate in Bhubaneswar.
While the police are yet to ascertain the cause of death, the deceased’s family members identified the victim as Swaraj Behera. His family members also alleged Behera was murdered and his body was dumped on the railway tracks.
According to police, the victim’s body bears several injury marks suggesting that he was brutally attacked with a sharp weapon. Police believe that the victim was fatally attacked and his body dumped on the railway tracks to show it as a suicide case.
A local resident who helped the police recover the body told the media that there were deep cut marks on the back of Swaraj’s head. The body also had another wound near the abdomen.
Meanwhile, the police have sent the body for post-mortem and launched an investigation into the investigation.
