Bhubaneswar: Creating panic, yet another yellow anaconda’s death was discovered on Saturday morning. This was second reported death in the last three days at the Nandankanan Zoological Park.
The first death was reported on November 28.
Today morning, the reptile park caretakers noticed the dead snake and notified the zoo authorities. The zoo authorities confirmed that the snakes were suffering from blood-tinged diarrhoea for a while now and were under treatment. The exact cause is yet to be ascertained.
The non-poisonous two-year-old reptiles were part of the eight that the zoo authorities had gotten from Madras Crocodile Bank Trust in October this year. Three female Nile Crocodiles had also come with them.
Death of four juvenile elephants due to elephant endotheliotropic herpes virus (EEHV) infection in September had caused quite an uproar in Odisha.
