Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for light to moderate rain or thunderstorms at various places in Odisha during the next three days.
According to a bulletin issued by the IMD on Wednesday, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur and Nuapada, while dry weather is likely to prevail over the rest Odisha districts on Wednesday.
Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Kandhamal and Kalahandi on Thursday.
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is forecast at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nawarangpur on Friday. Dry weather is likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
A partly cloudy sky with the possibility of thunder/lightning is forecast for Bhubaneswar and neighbouring regions in the next 24 hours. The minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to be around 37°C and 23°C respectively.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain/thunderstorm has occurred in a few places over the districts of south and north Odisha. Gusty wind of 56 kmph in the southwest direction has occurred at one or two places over
Bhubaneswar and the chief amount of rainfall recorded in cms are R Guda (Rayagada) 6, Kolnara (Rayagada) 6, Rayagada (Rayagada) 4, Rayagada Pto (Rayagada) 4, Bhanjnagar (Ganjam) 3, G Udayagiri (Kandhamal) 3, Udala (Mayurbhanj) 3, Dharakote (Ganjam) 3, Sheragada (Ganjam) 3, Kotagarh (Kandhamal) 3, Jagannath Prasad (Ganjam) 3, Nuagaon (Nayagarh) 3, Kalinga (Kandhamal) 3 and Sankheimundi (Ganjam) 3.
