Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorm and lightning in 12 districts in the State.
The IMD has issued a yellow warning for these districts: Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.
Over the next five days light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places in the State.
“The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Jaisalmer, Narnaul, Shahajahapur, Varanasi, Gaya, Bankura, Digha and thence east-southeastwards to North Bay of Bengal,” the IMD bulletin read.
“The cyclonic circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood now lies over south Jharkhand and neighbourhood and extends upto 4.5 km above mean sea level,” it further said.
Southwest monsoon has been active over Odisha The highest maximum temperature of 35 degrees was recorded at Malkangiri and the lowest minimum temperature of 19 degrees was recorded at Boudh.
Bhubaneswar will experience a partly cloudy sky with the possibility of moderate rain or thundershower. The maximum and minimum temperature in the city is very likely to be around 33 degrees and 25 degrees respectively.
