Khurdha: Upset over failure in her love, a young woman ended her life by hanging herself at her workplace at Mukundaprasad under Khurdha Industrial police station in the district on Monday night.
The 20-year-old woman working at a private clinic hanged herself from the ceiling fan with her stole in the clinic. The woman, a resident of Sunakhala of Puri district had been working in the private health centre for the last six months.
She remained on duty from 10 am to 5 pm every day and stayed in the clinic. Two other colleagues also lived with her.
She performed her duty till 5 pm normally and returned to her room after duty. She took the drastic step in the absence of others.
The staff of the clinic found her hanging inside the room in uniform. They immediately informed the owner who rushed to the spot and called the police.
According to her colleagues, she had posted emotional status on Whatsapp for the last few days. On the fateful day, she wrote on her status “You changed completely. Why should I live?.”
Just before taking the extreme step, she posted another note on Whatsapp- “I am waiting for my death.”
From these messages, it is suspected that she ended her life over the betrayal in her love.
