Bhubaneswar: A video of a young boy escorting his visually impaired parents to the Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri has received millions of likes on social media.
In the viral video, the boy is seen holding his parents’ hands while walking in the center. Another man is walking beside them for support.
They pass by the Aruna Stambha, which is located right in front of the Singha Dwara (Lion’s Gate) of Srimandir. The family then enters Lord Jagannath’s temple, where they can be seen seeking the blessings of Lord Patitapabana, the representative image of Lord Jagannath worshipped at the right side of the Singha Dwara (main entrance).
Although the original source of the video could not be confirmed, it was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @biharigurl with the caption, “Son takes his blind parents inside Shri Jagannath Puri Dham temple… Shri Mahaprabhu is for everyone.”

The video has since gained huge popularity, with nearly 149K views and around 10K likes. Many social media users have praised the boy, calling him the “Kalyug’s Shravan Kumar,” a reference to the devoted son in Hindu mythology.
Several also praised Lord Jagannath for His blessings and the divine play, or ‘Leela,’ He performs for His devotees.
