Bhubaneswar: A young girl allegedly doused herself with kerosene and set herself ablaze at Bhetanai village under Kotinada police station in Ganjam district.
The young girl’s identity is yet to be disclosed.
As per reports, the girl poured kerosene on herself and attempted self-immolation. As she was engulfed in flames, her family rescued her and initially admitted her to Aska Hospital in a critical condition. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was immediately transferred to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, where her treatment is ongoing.
Reports indicate that the woman has suffered 60% burns. The reason behind her attempted suicide is unclear, and police are investigating the matter.
