Bhubaneswar: Eight talented students from rural Odisha have been selected to participate in a prestigious global summit, where they will showcase their innovative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. The students, mentored by the Young Tinker Foundation, will represent India at the Global Junicorn & AI Summit 2025 in Texas, USA.
Digbijay Sahu and Chiranjib Barik have developed YTSAT 2.0, a helium balloon satellite for agriculture, providing real-time data on soil and crop health to enhance farm management.
Aditya and Soumya Sourav Gouda created Masala GPT, an AI-powered spice blending system, capable of producing over 500 regional spice blends, targeting the $18 billion global spice market.
Koushik Kar and Sridhar Jena have collaborated to develop Rural Volt, an innovative solution that enables villages to produce ethanol from agricultural waste, promoting sustainable energy and economic growth.
Yagyanvalka Mishra designed Eden, a sustainable fashion platform bridging Indian heritage with modern style, featuring an AI-powered styling assistant, EDEN AI.
Sai Satyam Pradhan’s S.O.B.A.D.Y is an innovative, autonomous electric vehicle that harnesses solar, wind, and motion energy to generate power, utilising AI-driven optimisation for efficient operation, making it an ideal solution for energy-scarce regions.
Before heading to the summit, the students visited Hyderabad to secure their U.S. visas and pitched their ideas at the Draper Startup House, gaining valuable feedback and exposure. Their journey has been mentored by the Young Tinker Foundation, with support from SELF (Sachi Ecopowered Livelihood Foundation) and the International Startup Foundation (ISF).
The summit promises to be an exciting platform for these young innovators, featuring renowned thought leaders, innovators, and visionaries in the AI space. With various roundtable discussions and plenary sessions, the event aims to foster networking, idea-sharing, and insights into the future of technology and entrepreneurship.
