Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a young man was found murdered near the National Highway close to Godibari under Chandaka Police Station limits in Bhubaneswar on Monday morning. The body was discovered by locals, who immediately alerted the police.
The deceased, a resident of Duburi village in Jajapur Road Block of Jajapur district, was reportedly employed at a local tent house in Bhubaneswar. Details about his age and family are yet to be confirmed.
According to police, the body was lying by the roadside when locals spotted it and informed the Chandaka Police. A scientific team was called in to conduct a preliminary investigation. The police cordoned off the area and collected evidence from the scene.
“This is a very recent incident, so we cannot provide all details yet. A male body was found on the roadside within the Chandaka Police jurisdiction. We have registered an unnatural death case and the investigation is ongoing. We are looking into a possible connection between a scooty and the deceased. Identification is not yet confirmed and we are examining all angles,” said Bhubaneswar UPD Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Zone VI, Sonali Singh Parmar.
The Chandaka Police have confirmed that the investigation is underway and assured that updates will be shared once more details emerge.
