Jeypore (Koraput): Police today claimed to have cracked the abduction and rape of minor girl in Jeypore town.
The accused identified as Santosh Dangayat (20) was arrested by Jeypore town police.
According to police, a complaint was registered in Jeypore town police station regarding the abduction of a minor girl studying in class IX in the town.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and started an investigation.
During the inquiry, police identified the accused and arrested him from Rayagada. The minor girl was also rescued from his clutches.
The girl was handed over to the family members after the medical examination, Town police IIC Iswar Tandi said.
