Youth Arrested For Raping Woman Employee Of Private Hospital In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Pahala police have arrested one Jitu Ranjan Das (35) of Kendrapara for allegedly raping a woman employee of a private hospital here.

According to an official press release issued by Bhubaneswar DCP, accused Das has been forwarded to court following his arrest.

The complainant who has been working in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar for the last one and a half years, a few days back had developed a friendship with Das through Instagram. Later both were in touch with each other through phone.

Late in the evening on June 15, while the complainant was on duty, Das visited her and took her mobile phone away. On the same day at around 10 pm, the accused visited her and asked her to accompany with him to get her mobile phone. While the complainant expressed her unwillingness to accompany him, she was forcibly pushed into a car by Das in which he had come to visit her.

The accused allegedly took the complainant to his rented house at Pahala and against her wishes forcibly raped her in his bedroom.

The police based on the complaint filed by the woman employee of the private hospital investigated the matter and arrested Das.

Accused Das has confessed to his crime during the investigation.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Das also has two cases against his name in two police stations in Cuttack.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
