Jharsuguda: In a barbaric incident, six miscreants allegedly chased and beat a youth to death in Patrapali village of Sarangloi panchayat under Laikera police limits in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district on Tuesday late night.
The deceased has been identified as Bipin Bhoi, a resident of Jayapali village.
According to reports, six miscreants armed with sticks and deadly weapons chased Bipin for some distance and mercilessly beat him to death. It is said that the youths had gathered at a place inside the village for a feast when an argument broke out between the deceased and others. Matters took a turn for the worse when the others chased the youth and thrashed to death.
All six accused have been detained by the police and are currently being interrogated. However, the police are yet to ascertain the reason for the murder. The Laikera police have started an investigation into the crime.
