Dhenkanal: In a gruesome incident, a youth was allegedly beaten to death in Ambapalas village under Parjang police limits in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district.
The deceased has been identified as Achutananda Nath. He sustained severe injuries on the head and back and died on the spot.
According to reports, some miscreants attacked Achutananda while returning home after a bath in the village pond on Thursday. He was reportedly thrashed brutally by three members of a family in the village over a land dispute resulting in his death. The accused have been identified as Trinath Nath, his son Sumant Nath, and Sumant’s wife Mami Nath.
Achutananda Nath’s elder brother Nirakar Nath alleged that his brother had enmity with a few families in the village over a land dispute.
On being informed, Parjang police reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it for autopsy. The police have launched an investigation into the crime.
