Bhubaneswar: A barbaric killing like the Shraddha murder case that created furore across the country has occured in Odisha. According to reports, a young girl was brutally killed by her lover following a rift in their relationship. If that was not enough for the barbarian, he set the body of the girl on fire and abandoned the remains in a forest.
The matter has been reported from Turekela in Bolangir district. According to the police the crime took place on November 24. The police have arrested the accused Sachin Agarwal and his companion Suraj Agarwal and are investigating the incident.
The victim, was an employee in a private bank in Moa district of Chhattisgarh, and was missing since November 21. The girl, Tanu Kure of Raipur was in a relationship with Sachin who was earlier living in Kantabanji.
Turekela police came to know about the missing complaint filed by Tanu’s parents with Shankar Nagar police in Chhattisgarh. Connecting the dots, the Odisha police ascertained that the charred remains were of the missing girl from Chhattisgarh.
Turekela police on Friday arrested Sachin and Suraj. A pistol used to commit the crime was seized from Suraj’s possession. Sachin confessed that he had taken Tanu to Mahasamund in Chhattisgarh. Later he murdered her near Bangomunda on the way to Kantabanji.
