Bhubaneswar: A youth was critically injured after being attacked by three miscreants in Sarmuhan village under Patnagarh police station in Balangir district, late Monday night.
The injured youth has been identified as Jibardhan Meher, a resident of Tendapadar village. He works at a gold jewelry shop in Sarmuhan.
According to reports, Meher was returning home from work when he was intercepted and assaulted on the road by three miscreants while en route to Tendapadar.
He sustained severe injuries to his head and hand during the attack. He was initially rushed to the Patnagarh Community Health Centre (CHC), but was later shifted to Bhima Bhoi Medical College & Hospital in Balangir after his condition deteriorated.
In connection with the incident, the victim’s family has filed a formal complaint at Patnagarh police station. Acting on the report, police visited the hospital and have initiated an investigation into the case.
