Youth Detained For Attempting To Enter Puri Jagannath Temple Wearing Slippers

Puri: A youth was reportedly detained by the police while attempting to enter the Jagannath temple in Puri wearing slippers.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the temple gates were about to open in the wee hours of Wednesday. Security personnel and Jagannath Temple Police stopped him, and after a brief argument, he was handed over to Singhadwar police for questioning.

The youth, identified as Lalu Prasad Sahu from Dhenkanal, is being held at the Singhadwara police station.

Police are investigating the matter and questioning him to determine the reasons behind his attempt to enter the temple wearing slippers, which is against the rules.
